One concept we established and implemented was setting up themed displays in pubs. On the basis that high street shops use window displays to attract customers, we developed a similar idea in a group of pubs. Modular Display Units were placed in prominent postions. These were then ‘dressed’ by Stretch initially, then by the Pub staff with seasonal items. On some occasions (e.g. Wimbledon) there were drink promotions (e.g. Pimms) and at other times it was to promote the food offer (e.g. Book now for Valentines etc.) The idea was a big success and is currently being rolled out to more pubs.
